The challenge was to create an animation, my first After Effects project, introducing a given subject and set of secondary information, employing visual and typographic hierarchy and conceptual illustration. I was given the subject 'Frank Sinatra' and chose to introduce five of his most enduring songs, from the album "Nothing But The Best."

Title: "Black Poison"

The challenge was to create a double-sided infographic poster exploring a topic relative to the tragic Gulf Coast oil spill of 2010. After having read numerous personal accounts of local fishermen and volunteers' deteriorating health and mental status, I chose to research the physical and mental health effects of over-exposure to crude oil on human beings. 

This project is my response to the human suffering that is often largely overlooked for the welfare of animals— a representation of the agony that was discovered therein. I chose to design the posters at such a massive scale because I wanted viewers to ‘feel’ pain, too, when they approach the posters to read; I felt that a near-life-sized drawing of a person being unwound by the 'poison' would communicate this idea.

Bonafide is a concept brand and product line that I named and created from scratch. After receiving my assignment, which gave me no more than the subject of 'cake mixes' to work with, I decided to design a modern take on the tradition of Southern hospitality, creating a genuine Southern eating experience through beautifully handcrafted baked goods that anyone can access and enjoy. The idea was that these products would be more high end than the usual cake mixes you might find in a grocery store, and would taste as if ones own grandmother had baked the cakes herself. The packaging is designed to reflect this sentiment.

The first products and packages I created were the cake mixes — a series of flavored bundt cakes, rum cakes, to be exact.

The container holds a bag for the cake mix, and inside the lid the glaze icing is also included.

As part of the brand extension, I created a collection of slice-and-bake cookie doughs as well as fruit preserves. In much the same manner as before, the cookie dough is included alongside special toppings contained in the lids: crystal sugar, confectioners sugar, etc.
