Platinum Black is a fine platinum powder that’s used as a high efficiency, high purity catalyst. It is manufactured from ammonium chloroplatinate, an inorganic compound that forms intensely yellow solutions in water. This chemical makeup and process was the inspiration for the Platinum Black identity mark.
